Reeves to go to Berlinale Talent Campus
BERLIN -- Keanu Reeves is going to be one of many industryites getting involved in the Berlinale's educational Talent Campus this season. Reeves created Chris Kenneally's documentary "Alongside,Inch screening within the Berlinale Special sidebar, which examines the impact of digital cinema. Inside it, Reeves interviews David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, George Lucas, Christopher Nolan, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron. In a special Talent Campus panel, Reeves will talk about the skill of meeting with and onscreen conversation with director and film critic Mark Cousins, whose own doc series, "The Storyline of Film -- An Journey," unspools in Berlinale Special. Some 150 experts will attend the tenth Talent Campus, lecturing, coaching and meeting the 350 filmmakers taking part within the program, which runs February. 11-16. The way forward for filmmaking is just one of the 2011 primary styles. Getting involved in Building Narrative Mobile phone industry's: Digital Design for Cinema is going to be production designers Alex McDowell ("Minority Report"), Uli Hanisch ("Cloud Atlas"), Habib Zargarpour ("The Bourne Identity") and visual artist Thomas Demand, who'll discuss the options of making new digital mobile phone industry's and alternate galaxies as well as their affect on storytelling. Also getting involved in diverse discussions is going to be filmmakers Timo Vuorensola, director of Panorama screener "Iron Sky," Brillante Mendoza, whose "Captive" unspools competing, and Tony Gatlif, director of fellow Panorama screener "Indignados."
